An Aerometer drives an eccentric over a snail transmission. Two weights are attached to this eccentric by means of cords and two redirectors each. The weights lift and lower alternately and thus move a balance bar. At the ends of the balance bar, coal-fibre rods hang down to the ground. These rods are either on the ground and thus turn the balance bar (similar to a ski runner) or are drawn.
