Chaos Scheibe I
At some schools in the Physics Room to give a first idea of the chaos theory you can find a model of this kind. A pendulum is fixed to another pendulum that is fixed to the center of a disc. One pendulum, of course, would perform perfectly regular movements. Two of them push and pull each other in a seemingly chaotic way, that, nowadays, of course can be described mathematically. An electric light has been fixed to the outer end of the outer pendulum. As the disc is coated with phosphorescing colour, the about last three minutes' path of the light is written on the disc.See also:
